For the uninitiated, reported by The Indian Express , NFT is the digital assets using technology blockchain to record who owns a digital objects such as images, video or in-game items. Although anyone can view the asset or NFT, however, only the buyer can say that they are the legal owner.


Of the various NFTs in circulation, one of the most popular NFTs in 2021 is the Bored Ape NFT. Because of its popularity, several world celebrities , for example Eminem, are willing to spend billions of rupiah to buy an NFT from Bored Ape.


What is Bored Ape?


Reporting from the Indian Express, Friday (7/1/2022), The Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC), is a popular digital asset collection containing 10,000 unique ape images, created by Yuga Labs.


To date, the proceeds from the sale of the NFT Bored Ape collection have generated over $1 billion in total sales amidst celebrities flocking to the NFT world.


Like other NFT assets, each ape image is a digital asset that uses blockchain technology to record who owns the original asset.


Bored Ape's high sales made it the highest selling volume of NFT collections in recent months. The sale and purchase of NFT assets uses the cryptocurrency Ethereum (ETH) as a digital asset transaction tool.


To buy an NFT Bored Ape , the buyer must provide starting from 52 Ethereum or around IDR 3 billion. Due to the popularity of this NFT, many world celebrities have bought this NFT Bored Ape.


World Celebrities Who Have NFT Bored Ape


There are several celebrities who are rumored to have bought NFT Bored Ape, for example, the most recent is rapper from the United States, Eminem. Eminem is rumored to have bought a collection of Non Fungible Tokens (NFT) Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) worth 123.45 Ethereum or around USD 452,000


Besides Eminem, based on data from Benzinga.com, there are several other celebrities who already have NFT Bored Ape.


One such singer-songwriter Post Malone recently, Malone acquired 2 NFT Bored Ape Yacht Club for over US$700,000. Her purchase is featured in her latest music video with The Weeknd. Post Malone currently uses Bored Ape #961 as his profile picture on Twitter.


Next up is the American DJ and producer duo, The Chainsmokers, who were among the earliest celebrities to add NFT Bored Ape Yacht Club to their collection. The Cheetah Fur Bored Ape was purchased for 55 Ether, and they used it as their profile picture on Twitter.


Not only celebrities, several sports athletes also bought NFT Bored Ape. One of them is NBA star from The Golden State Warriors, Stephen Curry, has bought Bored Ape Yacht Club with code Ape # 7990. He bought this Ape for 55 ETH.
